Founded in 1905, Fudan University is a C9 League member ranking 26th in the QS World University Rankings 2027. Based in Shanghai, China’s financial capital, it is particularly renowned for journalism, economics, and international relations, alongside strong medical and life sciences programs.

International undergraduate applicants apply through Fudan’s international admissions portal with secondary school transcripts and, for some programs, an entrance interview or written test. Chinese language proficiency (HSK) is required for Chinese-taught programs, though a growing number of programs are offered fully in English.

Domestic admission is extremely competitive based on China’s national Gaokao exam score, while international applicants are evaluated on academic transcripts, personal statements, and for some programs, an entrance interview conducted in English or Chinese.

Fudan offers the Fudan University Scholarship for international students, covering full or partial tuition based on academic merit, alongside Chinese Government Scholarships available to students from partner countries including Pakistan under bilateral agreements.

Fudan’s main Handan campus is located in central Shanghai, giving students direct access to one of Asia’s largest financial and cultural hubs, while its Zhangjiang campus focuses on science and technology research facilities on the city’s outskirts.
