Roman Urdu to Urdu Converterرومن اردو سے اردو کنورٹر

Type Urdu the way you text it, in English letters, and get proper Urdu script as you type. It uses a built-in dictionary plus spelling rules, so there is no AI, no account and nothing to pay. Words it is unsure about are underlined so you can pick another spelling with one click.

  1. Type or paste Roman Urdu into the left box, for example main theek hoon. The Urdu appears on the right as you type.
  2. Words with a dotted underline were guessed from their sound. Click one, or open Words to double-check, and choose the spelling you want. Your choice applies to every copy of that word until you leave the page.
  3. Press Copy result and paste the Urdu into WhatsApp, Word, a website or a social post.
  4. To go the other way, choose Urdu to Roman Urdu or press Swap direction.

  • Roman Urdu has no standard spelling, so a few words will always need a click. That is by design: the tool shows you what it guessed instead of hiding it.
  • Short vowels are normally left out in Urdu, so the converter omits them unless the word is in its dictionary.
  • Urdu to Roman Urdu is approximate: accurate for dictionary words, a rough sound-based reading for the rest.
  • The converter does not translate meaning and does not correct grammar.

  1. Type or paste your text. Every number updates as you type.
  2. Check Reading time and Speaking time. Change the speed if your audience reads faster or slower.
  3. Scroll to Keyword frequency to see which words or phrases you repeat. Raise the minimum to hide words used once.
  4. Tick Ignore common words to skip words such as the, and, of. You can edit that list.
  5. Use Copy summary for the totals, or download the keyword table as a CSV file.

  • Default speeds are 238 words per minute for reading and 150 for speaking. Real speeds vary, so treat the times as estimates.
  • Counts can differ slightly from Word or Google Docs because every program has its own rules for hyphens and symbols. The exact rules are listed on the tool page under Features.
  • Chinese, Japanese and Thai have no spaces between words, so use the character count for those.

Change capital and small letters in one click. There are eleven styles, from UPPERCASE and Title Case to camelCase and snake_case, and the result updates as you type.

  • camelCase, PascalCase, snake_case, CONSTANT_CASE and Slugify treat every line as a separate name, so you can convert a whole list at once.
  • Title Case has no single universal rule. AP, Chicago, APA and MLA differ, so check your style guide for formal titles.
  • Sentence case cannot know which words are names or acronyms. Capitalise those yourself afterwards.
  • Urdu, Arabic, Hindi and Chinese have no upper and lower case, so they stay unchanged.

  2. The spacing options at the top are on by default. They fix whitespace but never remove words or letters.
  3. Tick an option in the second group only if you want those characters deleted. Compare the before and after counts to see the effect.
  4. Copy the result or download it as .txt. If it looks wrong, untick the option: your original text is never changed.

  • Text from web pages and chat apps often hides zero-width spaces, soft hyphens and byte-order marks. They are invisible but can break searches, code and spreadsheets. This tool can remove them.
  • For Urdu and Persian, leave Remove invisible characters off. Those scripts sometimes use the zero-width non-joiner on purpose.
  • Removing punctuation also removes apostrophes and hyphens inside words.

  • Reversing words keeps your line breaks. Extra spaces between words become single spaces.
  • This is not mirror text: it changes the order of characters and does not swap in mirror-image symbols.
  • Reversing right-to-left text such as Urdu reverses the stored letter order, so use it only if you really want that.

See every match before you change anything. Replace all, replace only the first match, or undo. Regular expressions are supported and run with a time limit, so a bad pattern cannot freeze your browser.

  1. Paste your text, then type what to look for in Find. The match count and first matches appear straight away.
  2. Type the new text in Replace with. The right-hand box shows the result without changing your text.
  3. When the preview looks right, press Replace all in my text (or replace the first match only). An Undo button appears.
  4. Tick Regular expression for patterns. Ready-made examples are on the Examples tab of the tool page.

  • Whole word means the match is not touching other letters, digits or underscores: searching for cat will not match concatenate.
  • Without the regex option, the replacement is inserted literally. With it, use $1, $2 for captured groups.
  • Safety limits: a pattern is stopped after 2 seconds, patterns are capped at 500 characters, and counting stops at 100,000 matches.
  • You get up to 30 levels of undo.

  • Lines keep their original order. With First occurrence a repeated line stays where it first appeared; with Last occurrence where it last appeared.
  • Apple and apple are different lines unless you tick Ignore upper and lower case.
  • By default empty lines are treated like any other line, so only one is kept. Tick Remove empty lines to delete them all.
  • To see which lines repeat, sort the list first with the Line Sorter so repeats sit next to each other.

Sort a list alphabetically, in reverse, by length or by the first number on each line. The sort is stable, so lines that compare as equal keep the order they had.

  • Ignoring case is on by default. Turn it off to treat capital and small letters as different.
  • Accented letters sort next to their base letters, following your browser’s language rules.

  • Convert accents changes é, ü, ñ to e, u, n and expands ß to ss. It does not transliterate Urdu, Arabic or Cyrillic: those letters are kept so that meaning is not lost.
  • A maximum length cuts at a whole word, never in the middle of one.
  • Apostrophes are dropped without splitting the word, so don't becomes dont.
  • For an Urdu title that needs a plain English address, write a short English slug by hand.
  • Convert accents، é، ü، ñ کو e، u، n میں بدلتا ہے اور ß کو ss میں۔ یہ اردو، عربی یا سیریلک کو لاطینی میں نہیں بدلتا: ان کے حروف رکھے جاتے ہیں تاکہ مطلب ضائع نہ ہو۔
